Gert
Myburgh Senior from South Africa has been announced as the winner of the VIP
Experience at this year's AfrAsia Bank Mauritus Open.
Myburgh Senior, who will take his wife
on the trip, has won two return air tickets to Mauritius, and a 5-day stay at
the prestigious Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa
Resorts.
The prize also includes one entry to
participate in the coveted Pro-Am organised before the tournament, as well as
full access to the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open tournament.
I discovered a long time ago that in a
story I could safely dream any dream, hope any hope, go anywhere I please, and
any time I please. Not all dreamers are winners, but all winners are dreamers.
We are crazy happy that this dream came true at last. This is going to be the
honeymoon we never had, after almost 34 years of married life, and our first
time outside the borders of South Africa. It couldn’t have come at a better time in our
lives, said Myburgh Senior commenting on his win.
He continued, Being a huge golf fanatic,
I cannot wait to play in the pro-am and meet more of the professional golfers
of the world.
Myburgh Senior and his wife might also
have the pleasure of watching their son Gert Myburgh who is a professional
player on the Sunshine Tour also participate in the tournament. He hopes to
qualify to play at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open through a qualification
tournament the Sunshine Tour is hosting today at Woodhill Country Club in
Pretoria, South Africa.
Myburgh Senior is the second lucky
winner to be travelling to Mauritius to watch the tournament. The first
competition was won by Elizabeth Hindsfrom
the United Kingdom, who travelled to Mauritius with her husband to watch the
inaugural AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
The AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open is the
first ever tri-sanctioned golf tournament endorsed by the Sunshine, European
and Asian Tours. The tournament which will be held from 12 15 May 2016, will be played at the Four
Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita.
Some of the best performing professional
golfers from the three tours have been confirmed to participate in the
tournament this year. The players include Scott Hend, Jeev Milkah Singh, Thomas
Levet, Hennie Otto, and Nicolas Colsaerts.
Ends.
